Planning & Economic Development Director

  • Leads the development and implementation of goals, objectives, policies, and priorities for Planning and Economic Development programs

  • Coordinated Chapter 380 agreements, grants, and other financial incentives between the City, the EDC, and prospective or expanding businesses

  • Researched and developed long-term strategies and approaches that create business incentives and promote urban development and revitalization while having a positive economic impact on the City

  • Designed, implemented, and assisted in providing economic development partnerships with existing and new businesses

  • Oversaw the departmental budget, including expenditures, forecast projections, and amendments

  • Conducted research, surveys, and perform technical studies in order to develop a sound economic development policy

  • Identified potential sites within the city that are conducive to commercial and industrial growth while keeping the city's zoning requirements 

  • Worked with and coordinated with other City department heads in the development and expansion of new business construction

  • Assisted in and developed the operating budget of the Economic Development Corporation

    - fostering strategic partnerships and collaborating with key stakeholders such as primary employers, small businesses, state and federal governmental agencies, private EDOs, and financial institutions

    - overseeing the departmental budget


Business Development Coordinator

  • Assisted companies of all sizes to expand and take full advantage of all possible business opportunities in Cibolo by preparing data reports, working with developers, realtors, and area landowners, coordinating meetings, and implementing City-wide recruitment strategies.

  • Identified business development leads utilizing internal and external research databases and tools.

  • Served as a point of contact for coordinating activities between City departments, outside professional service providers, and City Board/Commissions. 

  • Represented the Cibolo EDC and City at public events and provides informative presentations.

  • Produced reports for City Administration, including, but not limited to, economic trend reports and quarterly and annual performance reports.

  • Assisted in developing and implementing a Business Retention and Expansion program for use with existing Cibolo businesses.

  • Worked with members in developing solutions to their international business needs such as FX risk mitigation and country-specific export opportunities
